Short interval announcements, spoken as in the app

Coming soon

App Store Google Play

Spoken Run talks you through every workout: each interval is announced with its length and target, and the remaining time or distance counts down at a cadence you set, seconds or metres, separately for work and recovery. A countdown with haptics leads into every interval, and pace guidance calls out the deviation before the rep is lost. Plan on the iPhone, run with the watch, no phone required on the run.

Built by a blind runner — made for everyone who doesn't want to stare at their wrist mid-stride.

Features

  • Audio first: interval announcements with targets, remaining countdown by metres or seconds, round context, a haptic countdown, and configurable data announcements (pace, heart rate, power) at your chosen interval. Important announcements interrupt background ones and are repeated afterwards.
  • Built for sprints: with a power foot pod, speed and distance come from the shoe, precise from the first metre, indoors and out. Without one, GPS takes over. Two profiles: Outdoor and Indoor.
  • All sensors in one list: foot pod, heart-rate strap, treadmill and wheel sensor appear together, each labelled with what it measures. Tap to connect a device and use it as your source.
  • The sensor says why it is not coming: a traffic light instead of a riddle. Grey, yellow, green, red, and after five attempts a clear reason (not sending, already connected, Bluetooth off) with Reconnect and Cancel.
  • The run says where it came from: the summary names the distance source (foot pod, GPS, treadmill) with the share each one delivered. An interrupted recording is stated outright.
  • Tracking runs in the background: a run started on the phone keeps recording and announcing even with the screen locked or another app in front. A native Apple Health workout keeps it alive.
  • Pace guidance: targets as pace, power, heart rate, cadence, time or distance, set as a Min/Max window or a target with tolerance. Too fast and too slow each have their own haptic pattern.
  • Plan like a coach: repeat blocks, time, distance and condition steps (until heart rate below 130), weekly series and single dates on a day strip. Plans are open .spokenrun files (JSON).
  • Everything recorded: per-second curves for power, heart rate, pace and cadence, per-interval summaries, automatic TCX export to iCloud Drive (Strava, Garmin Connect, TrainingPeaks) and the route as a map in the history.
  • Accessible to the core: fully usable with VoiceOver, big controls mid-workout, configurable double-tap gesture. Plus SpokenRunViewer, the accessible desktop companion for Mac, Windows and Linux.
