TSNLE — Non-linear editor for blind editors
In Development

TSNLE inverts the video editor. The transcript and timestamp list are the primary editing surface — not the timeline. Built screen-reader-first for blind editors.

Conventional NLEs assume you can see the timeline. TSNLE inverts that: the primary editing surface is the transcript and timestamp list. Cut, trim, reorder by selecting words or timestamps in text — not by dragging on a timeline. The video preview is fully functional, but never the only way to do anything.

Features

  • Transcript-driven editing — cut and trim by selecting words
  • Timestamp list with screen-reader-friendly navigation
  • Multi-track timeline with ripple and insert edits
  • Title cards and stills as first-class clips
  • Local AI speech-to-text (whisper.cpp) — works offline on modest hardware
  • Frame descriptions for blind editors — see what's on screen via screen reader
  • Standard video export via ffmpeg
  • Screen-reader-first UX — every action keyboard-reachable, every state announced

Platforms

  • 🪟 Windows 10 version 1809 and later
  • 🍎 macOS 10.15 Catalina and later
