2. Summary
ControlNav does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data.
- No internet connection is required or established
- No telemetry, analytics, or crash reporting
- No account or registration required
- No third-party SDKs or tracking libraries
3. Data Stored Locally
ControlNav stores your settings locally on your device only, in the Windows Registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ControlNav. This data never leaves your device.
The following settings are stored:
- Global shortcut key configuration
- Default interaction mode (Click, Double-Click, or Focus)
- Language preference
- Window preferences (position, size)
- First-run state (whether the welcome dialog has been shown)
This data is stored solely to restore your preferences between sessions. It can be deleted at any time by uninstalling the application (which removes the registry entries) or by resetting settings in the app.
4. UI Automation Access
ControlNav uses the Microsoft UI Automation API — a standard Windows accessibility interface — to enumerate UI controls of the currently focused application. This access is read-only and limited to the active foreground window. No UI content or application data is stored, transmitted, or logged.
5. No Network Access
ControlNav has no network access and establishes no internet connections. There are no update checks, license validations, or remote features of any kind.
6. System Requirements
ControlNav requires Windows 10 version 1809 or later. No elevated (administrator) privileges are required. All registry keys are stored under HKEY_CURRENT_USER, which requires no special permissions.
7. Your Rights
Since ControlNav does not collect personal data, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete. If you have questions, contact admin@slohmaier.com.
