Installation

Windows — Microsoft Store

Coming Soon — MouseCross for Windows will be available on the Microsoft Store.

Once available:

  1. Open the Microsoft Store app on Windows
  2. Search for MouseCross
  3. Click Get or Install
  4. MouseCross will start automatically after installation — look for its icon in the system tray

macOS — Mac App Store

Coming Soon — MouseCross for macOS will be available on the Mac App Store.

Once available:

  1. Open the App Store on your Mac
  2. Search for MouseCross
  3. Click Get
  4. MouseCross will appear in the menu bar after installation

⚠️ App Store purchases with crosshair active

macOS Sequoia 15.3+ hides App Store purchase buttons when any overlay is active. If you can't see the install button, toggle the crosshair off first (hotkey or menu bar icon). MouseCross will notify you automatically when this situation occurs.

First Launch

Windows

  1. MouseCross starts automatically and shows its icon in the system tray (bottom-right)
  2. The crosshair overlay appears immediately on your cursor
  3. A welcome dialog explains the key features on first launch

macOS

  1. MouseCross shows its icon in the menu bar (top-right)
  2. On first launch, macOS may ask for Accessibility permission — this is required for the global hotkey
  3. Grant access in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility
  4. A welcome dialog explains the key features

Auto-Start (Optional)

To have MouseCross start automatically at login:

Windows: Right-click the system tray icon → Settings → check Start automatically with Windows

macOS: Click the menu bar icon → Settings → check Launch at Login

Uninstall

Windows: Uninstall via Settings → Apps or the Microsoft Store app

macOS: Drag MouseCross from Applications to Trash, or use the Mac App Store
