Installation
Windows — Microsoft Store
Coming Soon — ControlNav will be available on the Microsoft Store.
Once available:
- Open the Microsoft Store app on Windows
- Search for ControlNav
- Click Get or Install
- ControlNav will start automatically after installation — look for its icon in the system tray
First Launch
- ControlNav starts and shows its icon in the system tray (bottom-right)
- A welcome dialog explains the basic features (shown only on first launch)
- The global shortcut Ctrl+Alt+L is registered and ready to use
Quick Start
- Open any application (e.g. Notepad, your browser, or a game)
- Press Ctrl+Alt+L — the ControlNav window appears
- Start typing to search for a control by name
- Use arrow keys to select a control
- Press Enter to interact with it
- Press Escape to close ControlNav
Auto-Start (Optional)
To have ControlNav start automatically with Windows:
- Right-click the system tray icon
- Select Settings
- Check Start with Windows
- Click OK
System Requirements
- Windows 10 version 1809 or later (64-bit)
- Screen reader optional but recommended: JAWS, NVDA, or Windows Narrator
Uninstall
Uninstall via Settings → Apps or the Microsoft Store app. All settings stored in the Windows Registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ControlNav will be removed automatically.
