"My table isn't listed" — check the status filter in the picker
and the braillekit_cli tables output. Alpha tables are included by
default but clearly labelled.
"The output has strange box characters (□)" — your font lacks Braille glyphs. Install a font like DejaVu Sans or any modern Braille-enabled font; modern Windows, macOS, and most Linux desktops ship Braille glyphs by default. If a specific control shows the boxes, increase its text size via the OS accessibility settings — the fallback font chosen at larger sizes often has the glyphs even when the small-text font does not.
"Capital letters are missing / double" — turn --capitals on
or off depending on your target. US UEB typically wants capitals on;
German DE-G2 traditionally does not emit them for whole-word
capitals.
"Back-translation gives garbled text" — the BRF dialect may not
match. Try braillekit_cli detect <input> first to confirm the
encoding, then pick the matching table.
"The app freezes on a huge document" — use the CLI batch mode instead, or split the document. The GUI is tuned for interactive work, not book-length batch jobs.
"A stable table has a wrong contraction" — please file a bug. Stable means verified against the standard, so any deviation is a real defect we want to fix. Include the input text, the table ID, the actual output, and what you expected according to which standard section.
